Easter Menu Ideas

Easter is almost here!  Have you planned your menu yet?  If not, or if you need a few more healthier ideas, I’ve got you covered!  I’ve rounded up some delicious and healthy Easter menu ideas for both breakfast/brunch and Easter dinner.

Easter is always a big deal in our family!  We usually decorated eggs the day before Easter.  Then on Easter morning, we get up and have something delicious for breakfast.  The boys see what the Easter bunny brought them, and then we go to church to celebrate the whole reason for Eater – Jesus dying on the cross and rising from the dead three days later!  After church, we usually get together with family and enjoy Easter dinner, and the kiddos enjoy an Easter egg hunt.  Easter dinner is always a big meal. We don it potluck-style where everyone brings a few dishes to add to the meal.

So here are some tasty and healthier recipes I’ve rounded up that you should consider using for your Easter menu this year!  I’ve tried most of these recipes myself and am excited to try out some more of these for this year’s meals!  All the recipes have clean and healthy ingredients, many of which are considered Paleo.  This health-conscious momma  approves!

Appetizer

Deviled eggs are a traditional food on our Easter dinner table.  These are a healthier version made without the harmful vegetable oil-based mayo.  These Prosciutto & Rosemary Baked Apples and Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates would make fun Easter appetizers as well!

Entree

I LOVE Easter dinner, because it is usually the only time in the year that we roast a whole ham.  Ham is one of my favorite meats (and bacon- basically I am thankful for pigs)!  Leg of Lam or Prime Rib would be other great options for a special Easter dinner.

Side Dishes

Asparagus has always been a favorite Easter side dish in our family.  I love it either wrapped with bacon (everything’s better with bacon, right?) or drizzled with hollandaise sauce (below is a recipe for a healthier version).  This green bean dish is delicious!  It would make another great green vegetable option if you don’t like asparagus.

Another side dish we’ve always had in our family for Easter is funeral potatoes (basically hash browns mixed with butter, milk, cheese, and sour cream and topped with Corn Flakes).  It definitely is NOT a healthy dish.  I no longer eat gluten, nightshades (which include white potatoes), or much dairy. So, I’ll be making either this Loaded Cauliflower Bake or Paleo Cauliflower Gratin this year instead.  They are both gluten, dairy, and nightshade free and will make a tasty alternative.

Fresh salads with fruit in them are one of my favorite things to eat in the springtime.  They provide just the right amount of tang and acidity to a meal. These salads have pear and strawberries in them.  Both are in season right now, making them perfect for Easter, or anytime in spring!

Dessert

Here are some gluten-free and dairy-free versions of some my favorites Easter desserts!  I’ve made this Paleo carrot cake several times.  Carrot cake is my husband’s favorite, and I make it for his birthday each year.  This one is the BOMB! 💣
